There are numerous books available on the subject of an infant's health. We recommend that you buy two of them ! As every new parent will confirm you will go into a near panic if your newborn appears to be unwell or is just behaving in a way that you are not used to or are unsure of! This situation happened to me when my son had hiccoughs for the first time! It sounds ridiculous now but at the time I didn't know what to do! (If you're wondering the answer is, of course, that you do nothing - the hiccoughs just go!) I referred to my Health and Care books regularly and found them extremely useful - the reason we recommend two books is that they enable you to double check anything that you're not sure of.
